When it comes to fashion, there’s no one way to get a look right. One can style the same look in as many ways and emerge victorious on more occasions than one. But while fashion is always personal, one can always look up to celebrities for style cues. It can be the trends they are obsessing over or the way they style their attire. Trends may come and go, but what stays are the myriad styles a certain trend gives birth to.
As another year comes to an end, here’s looking to one trend that found a spot in the wardrobe of almost all Bollywood celebrities. From Alia Bhatt to Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Janhvi Kapoor; many leading fashion icons gushed over bandhani this year.
Some opted for stunning colourful saris in bandhani, while a few others modernised the bandhani style a bit and started new trends. Some chose pretty suits, while still others stylised the old bandhani print in new ways. But no matter what their go-to choice was, bandhani was undeniably a staple this year.
As we enter a new year, here are 5 celebrity-inspired ways you can style bandhani:
Alia, who is known for her spectacular fashion choices, stunned in two bandhani styles this year. The first one was a multi-coloured sari, predominantly in the hues of pink and green, that she sported during the promotion of Kalank. She paired her sari with a sleeveless simple blouse and added a maang tikka to complete the look. The second look, a more recent one, is when she went for an all-over bandhani print suit in green.
Janhvi’s bandhani look is not a recent one, but certainly one of the best-styled looks. The actress was in Udaipur when she embraced a bandhani sari, in myriad shades of green. Janhvi, too, combined her drape with a sleeveless blouse, but in the fabric of velvet.
Sara Ali Khan
The ever-smiling Sara was seen sporting a vibrant yellow bandhani sari during the Ganesh Utsav. Combining the freshness of yellow and the warmth of pink, the actress matched her sari with a pink blouse. She also opted for a pink potli-style clutch to round off her look.
Similar to what Alia wore in green, Deepika opted for the attire in pink. But unlike Alia, the Padmaavat actress added a modern twist and wore it like an indo-western outfit and not a suit.
