Shoe bites usually take place around the ankles, the back of the feet or toes due to the areas being subjected to friction. It can either occur in the form of calluses, corns or rashes. If you are someone who gets a shoe bite every time you wear a new pair of shoes, then here’s how you can treat the shoe bite at home with these remedies.


Toothpaste is something that’s there in every house and it contains ingredients like menthol, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, which work as good healing agents. If the shoe bite is bothering you then, apply a layer of white toothpaste on the affected area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.


This is one of the easiest home remedies for shoe bite. Just rub some ice on the affected areas since it helps in reducing pain, itching and burning sensation. It also reduces swelling caused by the shoe bite.


For shoe bites, just dab the affected areas with raw honey for immediate relief. But make sure to not leave the house immediately after applying honey because it can attract dust particles and make the shoe bite more irritable.


The acidic property of lemon acts as a natural antiseptic and helps reduce itching. It can also help reduce the possibility of scars from the shoe bite. Apply some lemon juice on the affected area using a cotton swab and let it dry for a while. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Olive oil:

Olive oil is one of the best moisturising agents. You can massage a mixture of olive and almond oil on the affected area for instant relief. Let is sit for 30 minutes and wash it off with water post that.

Rice flour:

Rice flour acts as a great exfoliating scrub and helps to remove patches and dead skin from the skin. Apply a paste made of rice flour and water to the shoe bite scar. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Talcum powder:

Shoe bites can be caused because of sweat and perspiration. So, put some powder on your feet to keep them dry and fresh. Talcum powder also helps reduce any burning or tingling sensation that you may feel after a shoe bite.
